In this journey called life as followers of God, there are times when we get lost and feel dry in our faith. There are times when we have already learned the values of God but still followed worldly cares.

This Sunday's Gospel reminds me of the story of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta about a Hindu mother of eight children who approached her and asked for food. St. Mother Teresa gave this women a bag of rice, then to her surprise the mother divided the bag of rice into two and went out to a Muslim family next door whom she knew was hungry too.

As we go along life's journey, we need to remind ourselves about our dependence on God and that God will provide especially when we abide. Jesus summoned his 12 disciples and began to send them two by two, he instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick.

El papel de profeta sigue confundiéndose entre el de un adivino y el del portavoz de Dios. More often God allowed things to happen in order to test our faith in Him. Some of the trials or challenges we face are the tests of faith. How we face those trials reflect how strong our faith is. “DO NOT BE AFRAID, JUST HAVE FAITH”, these are the words of Jesus to Jairus, a synagogue official whose daughter just passed away.
