Transfiguration / Transfiguración
A Blessed Lenten Season to all! May your Lenten season be filled with heavenly blessings and graces. One of the greatest miracles of Jesus is the Transfiguration. He transfigured not because he needs a change but because we all need to change the best person God created us to be. As we heard this before, “Be the change you want to be”. It means, if we want to change our family or society, be the first one. But change starts from within. If we want to change our children or siblings their bad habits or attitude, show them first by deeds. Jesus showed us first what change is all about. His transfiguration foretells his glorious resurrection, a foretaste of his future glory. God wants us to change for the better person he created us so we will someday foretaste our own glory with him. We cant do as Jesus did on Mount Tabor because our own transfiguration is not about changing our bodies but our souls, not our bodily image but our moral spiritual image. Above all, Jesus wants us to have the heart like him, a heart contrite meek and humble. May the heart of Jesus be ours. God bless our Lenten journey! Amen!
Una bendita Cuaresma para todos! Que esta Cuaresma esté llena de bendiciones y gracias celestiales. Uno de los mayores milagros de Jesús es la Transfiguración. Se transfiguró no porque necesitara un cambio, sino porque todos necesitamos cambiar para ser la mejor persona que Dios nos creó para ser. Como hemos oído antes, "Sé el cambio que quieres ser". Esto significa que, si queremos cambiar nuestra familia o nuestra sociedad, debemos ser los primeros en hacerlo. Pero el cambio comienza desde dentro. Si queremos cambiar los malos hábitos o la actitud de nuestros hijos o hermanos, debemos darles ejemplo con nuestras acciones. Jesús nos mostró primero en qué consiste el cambio. Su transfiguración presagia su gloriosa resurrección, un anticipo de su gloria futura. Dios quiere que cambiemos para ser mejores personas, tal y como Él nos creó, para que algún día podamos anticipar nuestra propia gloria con Él. No podemos hacer lo que Jesús hizo en el Monte Tabor porque nuestra propia transfiguración no consiste en cambiar nuestros cuerpos, sino nuestras almas, no nuestra imagen corporal, sino nuestra imagen moral y espiritual. Por encima de todo, Jesús quiere que tengamos un corazón como el suyo, un corazón contrito, manso y humilde. Que el corazón de Jesús sea el nuestro. ¡Que Dios bendiga nuestro camino cuaresmal! ¡Amén!
