Segundo Domingo de Adviento / Second Sunday of Advent

“Sabemos de una triple venida del Señor. En la primera, Cristo fue nuestra redención; en la última, aparecerá como nuestra vida; en ésta, es nuestro descanso y nuestro consuelo” (San Bernardo).

“Dios es el “Dios-que-viene”. No es un Dios que está en el cielo, desinteresándose de nosotros y de nuestra historia, sino que es el “Dios-que-viene”. Es un Padre que nunca deja de pensar en nosotros” (Benedicto XVI).

Pregúntate a ti mismo lo siguiente:

• ¿Qué es lo que realmente anhelo en este Adviento?
• ¿Anhelo un regalo navideño en particular o realmente anhelo algo más profundo? ¿Anhelo llamar la atención de alguien? ¿O de Alguien [Dios]?
• ¿Qué estoy limpiando de mi vida para dejar paso a Dios?
• ¿Qué cosas es necesario suavizar o enderezar en preparación para la venida de Cristo?
• ¿Estoy listo para enderezar los caminos de mi Señor en este Adviento?

“Preparen el camino del Señor, hagan rectos sus senderos” (Lk. 3:4)

“We know that there are three comings of the Lord. In the first coming, Christ was our redemption; in the last, he will appear as our life; in this middle coming, he is our rest and our comfort” (St Bernard).

“God is the God-who-comes. He is not a God who is there in Heaven, unconcerned with us and our history, but he is the- God-who-comes. He is a Father who never stops thinking of us” (Benedict XVI).

Ask yourself the following questions:

• What am I really longing for this Advent?
• Am I longing for a particular Christmas gift, or am Ireally longing for something deeper? For the attention of someone? Or of some One [God]?
• What am I clearing out of my life to make way for God?
• What things need to be made smooth or straightened out in preparation for Christ's coming?
• Am I ready to straighten the paths for my Lord this Advent?

“Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths” (Lk 3:4).
