El Camino a Emaús / The Road to Emmaus

En el Evangelio, hemos escuchado cómo dos discípulos caminaban de regreso a su casa en Emaús y Jesús caminaba con ellos, pero no lo reconocieron porque sus mentes estaban preocupadas y, como dijo Jesús, eran “lentos de corazón para creer”. ¿Hay cosas que nos impiden reconocer a Dios? Quizás valga la pena preguntarnos qué y por qué. El mundo digital en el que vivimos tiene cientos de cosas que nos impiden ver y amar a Dios. El Evangelio de hoy nos enseña cómo los discípulos reconocieron a Jesús al partir el pan, precisamente en la Sagrada Eucaristía; por eso centramos nuestra fe en la Eucaristía. Busquemos siempre tiempo para reconocer a Jesús en la Eucaristía, mediante la participación activa en la Santa Misa y también dedicando tiempo a la oración personal en la adoración eucarística. Como Jesús nos invitó en Mt 26, 10: “¿No puedes velar ni siquiera una hora conmigo?” ¡Amén!.

In the gospel, we heard about the two disciples walking on their way home to Emmaus and Jesus walked with them but they didn't recognized him because their minds were preoccupied and as Jesus said, “slow of heart to believe”. Are there things that prevented us from recognizing God? Maybe its worth asking what and why? The digital world we lived had hundreds of things that blinded us from seeing and loving god. Todays gospel taught us how the disciples recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread, exactly what the Holy Eucharist, that's why we focus our faith in the Eucharist. Let us always find time recognizing Jesus in the Eucharist, thru active participation of the Holy Mass and also spending time in personal prayer in the Eucharistic adoration. As Jesus invited us in Mt. 26: 10 “Could you not watch one hour with me? Amen!
