Multiplication of Loaves / Multiplicación de Panes
This Sunday's Gospel reminds me of the story of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta about a Hindu mother of eight children who approached her and asked for food. St. Mother Teresa gave this women a bag of rice, then to her surprise the mother divided the bag of rice into two and went out to a Muslim family next door whom she knew was hungry too. St. Mother Teresa said, “I was not surprise that she gave, I was surprise that she knew how to give. There was this greatness, she had time to think of others. It doesn't matter how Little they have, they're always ready to share with somebody who has nothing or who is poorer than they, that's the greatness of the poor”. The most important lesson we can learn in the gospel is from that Little boy who shared his bread and fish in order to feed thousands of people, a lesson of kindness, to be kind to one another by sharing our blessings to those in need. Also this Little boy taught us to make a difference to others by our gesture of love and kindness. He made a difference to more than five thousand people by sharing the Little he had. It reminds me of a song, “Try a Little kindness. You've got to try a Little kindness. Yes show a Little kindness and if you try a Little kindness then you'll overlook the blindness of narrow minded people on the narrow minded streets and the kindness that you show everyday will help someone along the way. Try a Little kindness”. Brothers and Sisters, let us always never run out of kindness. Never miss an opportunity to be kind, show a Little kindness by speaking kind words and kind actions what we do to ourselves dies with us but what we do to others remains. God bless your kind hearts! El Evangelio de este domingo me recuerda la historia de Santa Madre Teresa de Calcuta sobre una madre hindú de ocho hijos que se acercó a ella y le pidió comida. Santa Madre Teresa le dio a esta mujer una bolsa de arroz, luego, para su sorpresa, la madre dividió la bolsa de arroz en dos y fue hacia una familia musulmana de al lado que sabía que también tenía hambre. Santa Madre Teresa dijo: “No me sorprendió que ella diera, sino que me sorprendió que supiera dar. Existía esta grandeza, tenía tiempo para pensar en los demás. No importa lo poco que tengan, siempre están dispuestos a compartir con alguien que no tiene nada o que es más pobre que ellos, esa es la grandeza de los pobres”. La lección más importante que podemos aprender en el evangelio es de aquel niño que compartió su pan y su pescado para alimentar a miles de personas, una lección de bondad, de ser amables unos con otros compartiendo nuestras bendiciones con los necesitados. También este pequeño nos enseñó a marcar la diferencia para los demás con nuestro gesto de amor y bondad. Marcó la diferencia para más de cinco mil personas al compartir lo poco que tenía. Me recuerda a una canción, “Prueba un poco de bondad. Tienes que probar un poco de amabilidad. Sí, muestra un poco de bondad y si intentas un poco de bondad, pasarás por alto la ceguera de las personas de mente estrecha en las calles de mente estrecha y la bondad que muestras todos los días ayudará a alguien en el camino. Prueba un poco de amabilidad”. Hermanos y hermanas, nunca nos quedemos sin bondad. Nunca pierdas la oportunidad de ser amable, muestra un poco de bondad hablando con palabras y acciones amables. Lo que nos hacemos a nosotros mismos muere con nosotros, pero lo que les hacemos a los demás permanece. ¡Dios bendiga sus bondadosos corazones! ¡Amén!
